Preparing a Submission
The Commission has released an interim report and a draft electoral map.
Public hearings will be held to receive submissions on both. The Commission has made some rules regarding the hearings and the making of submissions:
- No submission will be heard by the Commission at the hearings unless
notice in writing has been given stating the name and address of the
person by whom the submission is sought to be made and indicating
concisely the nature of the submission, the location at which he or she
would like to make a submission and any special needs they have. Such
notice must be received not later than August, 23 2004 by the
Commission at:

Notice of Intention to Make A Submission may also be submitted electronically.
- If, when the notice in writing of an intention to make a submission
is received by the Commission, the person signing the notice has not
stated the place at which he or she wishes to make a submission, the
Commission shall, in writing ask the person at which location he or she
wishes to be heard.
- If the Commission does not receive notice of intention to make a
submission at one or more of the locations, the Commission reserves the
right to cancel the hearing at that location(s).
- Translation services will be provided at the Abrams Village location.
- Submissions in writing will be received by the Commission at the
above address anytime before August 23, 2004. It is not necessary to
appear at a public hearing to make a submission in writing.
- The Commission reserves the right to waive any requirement of these
rules which it deems necessary in the public interest.

Who may make submissions?
Only those persons who give notice in writing of their intention to make
a submission will be entitled to make a submission at the public
hearings.
Is there a deadline to give notice of intention to make a submission?
Yes, a notice of intention to make a submission must be delivered to the
Commission office on or before August 23, 2004.
Can i make a submission in writing without attending a public hearing?
Yes, at any time before August 23, 2004 and without attending a public
hearing, you may forward a submission in writing to the Commission by
e-mail or by ordinary mail to the

Will there be time limits on making a submission at a public hearing?
Yes, it may be necessary to impose time limits, if there are a number of
people scheduled to make submissions at the particular hearing.
Will my oral and written submission be posted on the website?
Yes, all the hearings will be recorded and posted on the CommissionŐs
website. All written submissions will also be posted on the website
when they are received.
What should i say or write?
You may say or write anything relevant to the commissionŐs proposals for
a revision to the area, boundaries and names of the 27 electoral
districts. Please keep in mind the mandate of the Commission and the
issues that have been identified in carrying out that mandate.
